This week, the Ukrainian Armed Forces were able to add more confidence to the Kharkiv sector, states the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"I am grateful to all our soldiers and units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, who proved this week that the Russian state will pay for everything it does against our people and our society," the President said.

He also thanked the Ukrainian military for continuing to defend the border.

"I thank each of our soldiers who have shown sufficient resilience and managed to add more confidence this week, in particular, in the Kharkiv direction. The occupier is losing its infantry and equipment - it is losing significantly, although, just like in 2022, it was counting on a rapid advance on our land," Zelenskyy emphasized.

Situation in the Kharkiv region

The situation in the Kharkiv region has deteriorated significantly since May 10. This happened after the Russian military attempted to break through the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

They failed to achieve significant success, but the Russians occupied several settlements in the "gray zone".

Nevertheless, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, said yesterday that Russia had expanded the combat zone in the region by another 70 kilometers.
