'Outstanding': Martin Odegaard admits he finds it 'amazing' to play with one Arsenal player right now

Arsenal midfielder Martin Odegaard might be one of the players of the season but he’s had some high praise for one of his teammates as well.

Odegaard has been one of the standout midfield players in the entire league this season and he can still end tomorrow as a Premier League champion if all goes well.

For Odegaard, his improvement has coincided with being given the captain’s armband by Mikel Arteta.

But while he is playing some of the best football of his career himself, Odegaard has also seen some of his teammates shine while he’s been skipper.

One of those players is Bukayo Saka, who has once again hit double figures in both goals and assists this season.

And speaking about Saka, Odegaard has lauded the impact the England winger has on the club.

Martin Odegaard full of praise for Bukayo Saka

Speaking to BEIN Sports about his teammate, Odegaard admitted that he simply loves playing with Saka.

“I think he’s an outstanding player and a great person. Since I came here he was one of the first ones to really take me into the team and to help me to adapt and understand the culture and Arsenal,” Odegaard said.

“He’s a young boy but he’s been such a lot since he started playing and has a lot of experience. When he’s on the pitch you see his qualities, but even outside of the pitch he’s taking more and more responsibility.

“He’s really one of our leaders now. So it’s great to play with him, I love to play with him it’s amazing.”

Saka and Odegaard link up crucial for Arsenal

The interviewer here makes reference to this at the start of proceedings but Odegaard and Saka have been involved in creating more chances for each other than any other duo in the league.

That in itself is massive for Arsenal but the key as well is they also both deliver the end product.

Saka has been brilliant once again for the Gunners and he’s looked better each week ever since he missed the penalty in the Euro 2020 final.

Odegaard, as we know, has really pushed on since being made skipper and between the pair, they could lead Arsenal for years to come.
