'I can guarantee': Fabrizio Romano has just dropped a big Saturday update involving £37m Liverpool player

Liverpool could be in a summer of change as Arne Slot arrives but Fabrizio Romano believes one key player will be staying put.

Jurgen Klopp’s exit and the appointment of Slot means that some Liverpool fans are expecting movement this summer, both in terms of incomings and outgoings.

Michael Edwards is also back at the club and with Richard Hughes also appointed, signings will happen.

Of course, some Liverpool players might also find themselves moved on and there is already interest from other clubs in some key players.

One of those stars attracting interest is winger, Luis Diaz. Barcelona and PSG are said to be keen on the £37m man, while there’s been suggestions Diaz himself is open to the move, with suggestions the Reds are losing patience.

However, Fabrizio Romano has suggested otherwise, in what could be good news for Liverpool.

Fabrizio Romano drops update on Liverpool winger Luis Diaz

Speaking to GiveMeSport about Diaz’s future at Anfield, Romano suggested heavily that the Colombian will remain with the Reds.

“For Luis Diaz there is a lot of interest. We always have reports from clubs from Spain and France. But, at the moment, I can guarantee that Liverpool trust Diaz and want to continue with him,” Romano said.

“Let’s see if crazy proposals will arrive. At the moment, Liverpool are still very happy with Luis and Luis is also happy at Liverpool. The situation is quiet.”

Diaz can be a superstar at Liverpool

There is really no need for Luis Diaz to be pursuing a move away from the Reds right now, on the surface, anyway.

Right now, he plays every single week and with Arne Slot coming in, he’ll want the best players ready to go and produce under his guidance.

Of course, playing for Barcelona is a dream for many South American players. But with Liverpool already taking to him due to his all-action style and Mo Salah not getting any younger, Diaz has a chance to be Liverpool’s main man for years to come.

A move to Spain, then, would seem like a backwards step right now.
