'Because I know...': Pep Guardiola makes comment about Arsenal just 24 hours ahead of title deciders

Manchester City and Arsenal can both win the Premier League tomorrow and Pep Guardiola has fired a warning to his own players.

The City boss leads his team out against West Ham knowing that a win will get the job done and make it a record-breaking four titles in a row for City.

For Guardiola, it would be yet another record to add to his already incredible resume. While for Mikel Arteta, it would be a first Premier League title and a big reward for a huge season.

Of course, getting over the line is the key and City should, in theory, get the job done.

But speaking about the upcoming rivalry with Arsenal, Guardiola has admitted he doesn’t see this current Gunners side going anywhere.

Pep Guardiola predicts Arsenal are not going anywhere under Mikel Arteta

Speaking to Sky Sports’ Melissa Reddy, Guardiola lauded what Arteta had done.

After saying the certainties in his life are both going to sleep and waking up, Guardiola then admitted that Arsenal being hot on City’s tail for the foreseeable is also another certainty.

“The other certainty, with the age they have, with the manager they have and the way they’ve played the last few seasons, they will stay here for a long, long time. That’s why we get the message,” Guardiola said.

“So what we are saying is that no matter what happens tomorrow, if you don’t be ready to compete again with them, they will take our position. Because I know.

“I know Mikel, I know their team. I know Arsenal is an institution. But I know Mikel and he is a huge competitor. Our chemistry when we were together, I felt it. Whatever position he is now with Arsenal I felt he will do it, he will do it.”

Man City v Arsenal could be the new City v Liverpool

As Jurgen Klopp leaves Liverpool, a new dawn could be on us in the Premier League with City and Arsenal.

We saw last year how close the Gunners came and this season they’ve gone even closer and could actually win it.

The expectancy is that City will get the job done tomorrow and while gutting for Arteta and his team, the progress is there for all to see.

Guardiola, then, is bang on the money here and we could see some titanic battles between Arsenal and City in the coming seasons.

If that is the case, then bring it on.
