'Has to move on': Tony Cascarino says £30m Arsenal player must leave the club this summer

Former Aston Villa forward Tony Cascarino has told a £30m Arsenal player that he must leave the club this summer transfer window.

Mikel Arteta’s men are gearing up for the final day of the Premier League season which could see them crowned Premier League champions for the first time in 20 years.

They play host to Everton at the Emirates Stadium whilst title rivals Manchester City welcome West Ham United to the Etihad.

A win for Arsenal and a defeat or a draw for the Citizens would be enough to claim the league for The Gunners, so there’s still hope in North London.

Behind the scenes, club chiefs will already be planning their summer business and one player could be departing, with Cascarino urging him to.

Tony Cascarino says Aaron Ramsdale should leave Arsenal

Aaron Ramsdale has endured a tough season having been dropped to number two, with David Raya the favoured man between the sticks.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Cascarino urged him to leave the North Londoners this summer transfer window.

“I think Ramsdale will look for a move-out. He has been given no chance of being number one at Arsenal next year, I think he has to move on,” the 61-year-old said.

“When you have played for the team, you have played week in and week out and you have had a big part in the previous season and then you have been left out and dropped, I don’t know where else he can go except for moving on to someone who wants you to be their number one.”

Aaron Ramsdale linked with Newcastle United

Over the last few days, Ramsdale has been heavily linked with a move to Newcastle United and The Telegraph suggests a five-year contract is on the table.

The Magpies are willing to outlay £15m on the 26-year-old, though, considering Arsenal signed him for £30m, it remains to be seen if that will be accepted.

Eddie Howe signed Ramsdale whilst at Bournemouth and it now seems a reunion is on the cards.
