Russia strikes recreation center near Kharkiv twice - Number of victims and wounded increased

Russian troops shelled a recreation center in the Kharkiv region. Currently, 16 people are injured, and five more have died, according to the Telegram channel of Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov and the Kharkiv Regional Police.

"Currently, it is known that five people have died and at least fifteen are injured," the police report states.

Among the injured are a police officer and a paramedic who were caught in a secondary attack while providing assistance at the scene.

Details of the Russian attack

At around 11:00, the police received a report of shelling in the village of Cherkaska Lozova, Malodanylivska community, Kharkiv region. Police and medical personnel arrived at the scene.

"Twenty minutes later, the enemy struck the same street again," the police added.

Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov noted that two Russian missiles directly hit the recreation center where people were staying. According to his information, 16 people were injured, and five died.

Child among the injured

Later, the police confirmed the reports of 16 injured individuals. Among the wounded is a child.

"There are now 16 injured, including an 8-year-old child (with minor injuries). Eight of the injured are in serious condition," law enforcement officials added.

Investigative and operational teams, criminalists, and explosives experts are working at the scene. A criminal case has been opened by investigators for violating the laws and customs of war under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Shelling of a recreation center in Kharkiv region

In the afternoon, several loud explosions were reported in Kharkiv. It was later revealed that the explosions occurred not in Kharkiv itself, but in the Kharkiv district.

Almost immediately, it was reported that there were 8 injured and 4 dead. The occupiers struck a recreation area where many people were present.

It should be noted that the occupiers consistently use the tactic of repeated strikes, most often during attacks on Kharkiv and the region.
