'I think': Erling Haaland shares when Man City knew that they would win the Premier League this season

Erling Haaland has revealed when Manchester City knew they would go on to become Premier League champions.

Having won the title with City last season, Haaland is fully aware of what it takes to go the distance.

Title races ebb and flow and especially after having competed with Arsenal for the league throne in his debut season, the £51 million man also had a better idea of what they had to offer.

Haaland reveals when Man City knew they’d win the Premier League

Erling Haaland has disclosed that after beating Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 on Tuesday, Manchester City were confident they would win the Premier League.

On Sky Sports Main Event during their live coverage, Haaland said: “It’s fantastic, beautiful and I’m enjoying it.”

“I think after we won at Spurs, we kind of knew we were going to do it. We come at home with the pressure and everything, I was confident.”

“We had done a little extra [after the Club World Cup] because that’s when it really matters. I’m happy.”

The masses would agree with Erling Haaland

After Stefan Ortega’s remarkable save to stop Son Heung-min from scoring a late equaliser for Spurs, Jamie Carragher claimed the title was decided there and then.

Erling Haaland scored his second goal of the day against Tottenham and Manchester City hosted West Ham a few days later to beat them 3-1 and win the league.

City’s win against the Lilywhites at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium felt seismic and as any title-winning team does, they got over the line against the Hammers.

However, it was expected that the Sky Blues would get the job done, with Gabby Agbonlahor predicting the hosts to win 5-0 before the game.

With the title on the line for Manchester City and West Ham not having much to play for, there was only going to be one winner.

But if not for City’s victory against Spurs, perhaps Mikel Arteta would have had his hands on the league title at the Emirates Stadium.
