What Conor Gallagher and Behdad Eghbali were seen doing after Chelsea's win vs Bournemouth - journalist

Chelsea co-owner Behdad Eghbali was in attendance for Conor Gallagher and Chelsea’s final game of the season.

With Reece James suspended, Conor Gallagher captained Chelsea on the day, as he has done for much of the campaign.

The midfielder was able to help his side beat Bournemouth 2-1 at Stamford Bridge.

It was Chelsea’s fifth win on the bounce and secured them sixth place in the Premier League table.

It may have been Gallagher’s final game as a Chelsea player, with the 24-year-old being linked with a move to Aston Villa.

Conor Gallagher and Behdad Eghbali’s conversation

With Eghbali present at the match, it looks like he used it as an opportunity to speak to Gallagher.

Journalist Kieran Gill shared on X that the Chelsea co-owner and England international had a good chat on the pitch once Stamford Bridge had emptied following the conclusion of the game against Andoni Iraola’s side.

Chelsea supporters will be hoping that it was a conversation where Eghbali was telling Gallagher that he is not leaving the club this summer.

Gallagher has been such an important player for Mauricio Pochettino, making 50 appearances this season.

Conor Gallagher and Moises Caicedo’s midfield partnership

In Enzo Fernandez’s absence, Gallagher has dropped a bit deeper and played alongside Moises Caicedo. It is a combination that has worked for the Blues.

Since its introduction in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Aston Villa last month, Pochettino’s side have not lost a single game.

In total, they took 16 points out of 18 from the six games played with that partnership.

Going forward, it is something to think about.

Of course, with Fernandez being the second-most expensive signing in Chelsea’s history, Pochettino cannot just drop the 23-year-old. And again, right now, there is no guarantee that Gallagher will even be at Stamford Bridge next season. His contract situation has become a bit of a messy one, with the Chelsea academy graduate about to enter the final 12 months of it.
