Joe Hart replies to brilliant Scott Bain Instagram message ahead of retirement at Celtic

Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart will be widely missed when he retires from football at the end of the current campaign.

Now, into the final week of his professional career, Hart can bow out as a double winner if the Bhoys can topple Rangers at Hampden in the Scottish Cup final.

Of course, the 37-year-old will already leave the game as a winner following Celtic’s Scottish Premiership title-winning exploits this season, and his three-year contribution was recognised at Parkhead in an emotional occasion last Saturday.

The Green Brigade unveiled a stunning display early in the second half, paying tribute to the Shrewsbury-born man, who has become an iconic figure among the support that will be remembered fondly for years to come.

Hart cited fellow Celtic goalkeeper Scott Bain as an important influence on his time at the club during his gripping 17-minute interview with official club media last week, and his teammate has now taken to Instagram to show his appreciation for the veteran stopper in brilliant fashion.

Posting on his official Instagram account, Bain delivered a fitting tribute to Hart, with a picture of him replacing his colleague on 88 minutes as a substitute accompanied by the caption: ‘Special Moment @joehartofficial Thank You For Everything Old Boy! Huge Week Ahead.’

In the replies, Hart responded brilliantly, stating: ‘Loved every second @scottbain_ what a man …. Work to be done’ (eluding to the Scottish Cup final this weekend).

Celtic have one more opportunity for silverware this weekend and you can see that in every social media post from the playing squad, there is a clear message that their job isn’t finished this campaign.

Over the years, players have come and gone from the group; however, the one constant at this club is maintaining a winning mentality at all costs.

Now, a week of rigorous preparation on the training field awaits before the Bhoys look to give Hart the send-off he deserves by claiming the Scottish Cup at Hampden.
