Pope urges warring countries to find way to negotiate peace

Pope Francis has issued a plea to all warring nations, urging them to halt their conflicts, according to CNS News.

"Stop the war. You must find a way of negotiating for peace. Strive for peace. A negotiated peace is always better than an endless war," the Pontiff said.

Pope Francis added that in many of his speeches, he calls for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

"What I can do is pray. I pray a lot for peace. And also, to suggest, 'Please, stop. Negotiate,'" he said.

Pope's remarks on war

This isn't the first time Pope Francis has spoken about the war in Ukraine. Additionally, sometimes his comments seem ambiguous.

For instance, in one of his statements, he urged to find the courage to start negotiations with Russia and even used the term "white flag." Then, perhaps attempting to clarify, a few days later, the Pope condemned wars worldwide, including the war in Ukraine.

Furthermore, in one of his addresses, Pope Francis referred to the Buryats and Chechens as the most ruthless Russian occupiers who invaded Ukrainian territory. At the same time, he defined a Ukrainian martyr.
