Summer cyclocross returns to Newbury’s Goldwell Park

Six weeks of Cyclocross will be arriving in Newbury next week, open to riders of all abilities.

Presented by Newbury Velo and Reading based club Sprockets, these events are intended to be accessible to all with new riders encouraged to come along and experience the excitement of racing for fun.

Riders fight for position at a Newbury Cyclocross race

Newbury’s Goldwell Park, just opposite Northcroft Leisure Centre, will host three of the events on Thursday 23rd May, 6th June and 20th June. Further races will take place at Dinton Pastures Country Park in Winnersh on 28th May, 11th June and 25th June.

Winding parkland courses will provide an exciting challenge, appropriate for any MTB, gravel bike or cyclocross bike. Participants are encouraged to bring friends and family for an evening of racing and camaraderie.

Cyclocross at Newbury returns for another Summer

Race times will vary, beginning at 17:30 for under 8s and under 10s, with the final race being junior and senior men at 19:35. Races for boys and girls of all ages will also take place, as well as adult categories for both men and women.
