Virgil van Dijk now sends final message to Jurgen Klopp after Liverpool’s last game of the season

Jurgen Klopp has finally left the building and after an emotional day at Anfield yesterday, the Liverpool players are still sending their well-wishes to the German.

Klopp’s final day ended with a 2-0 win over Wolves before a fitting and worth tribute at the end of the game left plenty of fans with tears in their eyes.

Trent Alexander-Arnold was among those to admit he was emotional. The right-back conceded he’s rarely brought to tears but Klopp’s exit did for him.

As for the rest of the Liverpool players, well, it was plain to see on the pitch just what Klopp means to them.

And over on Instagram, Liverpool skipper Virgil van Dijk has taken time out of his morning to post his message of thanks to the German coach.

Virgil van Dijk sends message to Jurgen Klopp

Van Dijk has been one of Klopp’s greatest pieces of business while at Liverpool.

The Reds paid £75m for Van Dijk back in 2017 and along with Alisson Becker, he is widely seen by many Reds as being one of the key signings that kickstarted success under Klopp.

Now club captain, Van Dijk is very much admired by Klopp and that feeling is obviously mutual, as the Dutch defender took to Instagram to praise the now former Reds boss.

Van Dijk one of Klopp’s big success stories

When Liverpool signed Virgil van Dijk, everyone knew he was a good player after his performances at Celtic and then Southampton.

However, few could have imagined just how good he’d become and some of that needs to be attributed to how Jurgen Klopp managed him.

Van Dijk went from very good defender to world-class in the space of a season or two and it’s little wonder the Reds won the title and Champions League with the Dutchman at the back.

The trust and respect between the pair of them is clear for all to see.

As always, Van Dijk’s message here is short, simple, to the point but full of meaning.

All in all, a lovely touch from the £75m man.
