Fenland drivers turnout in big numbers for King’s Lynn meeting

Fenland race fans had plenty to cheer in the BriSCA F1 stock cars with the largest number of local drivers in action in the F2 stock cars at King’s Lynn on Saturday.

Dave Polley, Callum Gill, Bradley Blyth and Daz Kitson were all in action and all put in some good performances.

Polley picked up the best set of results.

Dave Polley (138) had a decent night in the F1 stock cars at King’s Lynn on Saturday. He is seen here battling with Dutch driver H418 Neils Tesselaar

He qualified for the final with a fourth-place finish in his heat and was set to come home in seventh place in the final – which was won by World Champion Tom Harris – only to be involved in a big crash on the final bend which saw him limp home in 13th place.

Gill was battling for the lead in his heat when he crashed out and was unlucky not to win the consolation when superstar driver Craig Finnikin only just found a way past on the final bend with Gill finishing in second place.

Another good drive by Polley in the Grand National saw him briefly hit the front before eventually coming home in fourth.

Bradley Blyth qualified for the final with a seventh-place finish in the consolation.

A big weekend of action takes place at King’s Lynn this weekend with two major events with plenty of local interest taking place.

The saloon stock car championship time takes place on Saturday (4pm) with the 2L stock car National Championship and 1300 stock car British Championship taking place together with unlimited bangers.

Monday (1pm) sees the Big Van bangers in action with racing also taking place for the junior bangers and lady bangers
