Wolves want to sell 'outstanding' gem for even more than Matheus Nunes, two PL clubs keen - John Percy

Wolves have reportedly now named their asking price for Pedro Neto, amid interest in the winger from Manchester City.

Pedro Neto made his comeback for Wolves in the final Premier League game of 2023/24 against Liverpool, after a two-month lay-off with his second hamstring injury of the season.

It was only his 24th appearance of the campaign, which was a real shame. Because when he did take to the field, Neto was ‘outstanding’ for Wolves, scoring three goals and making 11 assists.

As a result of Neto’s performance this term, there has been plenty of speculation about his future.

The feeling has long been that he will be the next ‘big’ player sale at Molineux. However in recent times, Rayan Ait-Nouri is thought to have been attracting even more attention.

But a claim has been made tonight which would suggest Wolves are ready to do business…

It has been reported this evening by journalist John Percy in the Telegraph that Wolves have placed a £60 million asking price on the 24-year-old.

Manchester City are keen on Neto, as they seek to strengthen once again after winning yet another Premier League title.

It is also stated that Newcastle United are interested in the player. The Magpies were previously said to be worried about his injury record though.

Wolves are said to still believe that Neto can be sold for big money, despite the fact he has suffered two serious hamstrings this season. There has previously been some talk of other clubs being put off by his injury record.

Should Wolves sell for £60 million, then it would eclipse the current club-record £53 million they got from selling Matheus Nunes to City last summer.

£60m is a fair asking price

If it’s true that Wolves are seeking £60 million to sell Neto, then that is probably just about a fair price.

We know that Neto has had his injury problems this season and in previous campaigns, and it is understandable that some clubs may have reservations.

But ultimately, this is a player who has the potential to be truly world-class.

We have seen him completely light up games this season, and his pace and dribbling make him a major threat for opposition defenders.

Not only does Neto have amazing natural ability, he also works extremely hard and is determined to become a top-class player. He has spoken before about trying to follow in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo, who is obviously famous for his work ethic which has helped him to have the career he has.

So £60 million is a fair asking price from Wolves, and hopefully the club will hold firm on it.
