'Unstoppable': Ian Wright left seriously impressed by £50m player who's been linked with Tottenham move

Ian Wright has now been singing the praises of a midfielder who’s regularly been linked with a move to Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur.

Having concluded their season away to Sheffield United yesterday, confirming a return to European football, Daniel Levy must have already begun work to strengthen his squad.

Ange Postecoglou’s focus will of course still be on the club’s fairly untimely tour of Australia which will conclude after facing Newcastle United on Wednesday.

Tottenham have a big job on their hands this summer, they simply have to back Postecoglou’s ambition and ideas.

Despite not qualifying for the Champions League, which looked almost inevitable earlier in the season, the Spurs boss will want the club to act like a side at that level.

Postecoglou hasn’t hidden his frustration of late, and Levy will surely provide the manager with the tools he needs to take this exciting project to the next level.

That being said, it’ll be interesting to see which positions and profiles Tottenham target in the summer.

Ian Wright almost runs out of superlatives for Tottenham target Eberechi Eze

Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze is a player who’s been consistently linked with Tottenham over the past season.

Eze is currently thriving at Crystal Palace and seems to be the exact kind of profile Postecoglou loves working with.

That being said, Ian Wright was seriously impressed with the midfielder’s display against Aston Villa yesterday.

Speaking on the BBC’s Match of the Day, the pundit thought the England international was thriving alongside Michael Olise and Jean-Philippe Mateta.

He explained: “You look at Eze with this much time and space, you know great power, great direction – brilliant finish.

“And again, great run from Eze who is just unstoppable, unplayable.

“When you’ve got a striker up front like that [Mateta] and players like [Michael] Olise and Eze around you, the form he’s in and look at that confidence, that’s fantastic, fantastic Palace – they’re scary!”

Of course, Tottenham fans probably wouldn’t be too adverse to signing any of the names mentioned above.

But Eberechi Eze does look particularly well suited to their project, a player who could complement the likes of James Maddison, and perhaps help reignite his form.

All that considered, Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker recently agreed on three signings Tottenham need this summer.
