Foodies hope Wendy's will add tasty item from event to the menu for good

Food lovers across the nation are begging Wendy’s to add Tajin French Fries to the US menu following a popular release in El Salvador.

As we all know, the grass is always greener on the other side, and fast food is no different. For years, Americans have watched hungrily asfast food companies on foreign soil launch everything from ketchup nuggets to Shrimp Whoppers. Though Wendy’s already has some pretty outstanding items on their menu, we’re looking at you orange dreamsicle, it could definitely use a Tajin kick.

The Wendy’s Tajin fries were a hit in El Salvador

Last year, Wendy’s in El Salvador released their french fries with Tajin, a Mexican spice mix largely made from salt, lime, and chili peppers. They chips were an instant hit and now it appears as if they could be making their way to your local Wendy’s.

Americans learned of a Stateside release from the popular Instagram page Snackolator (@Snackolator), who you might remember teased the release of Starbucks’ boba drinks.

“So in 2023 Wendy’s sold these Tajin fries in El Salvador and we all know that fun releases happen outside of the US, but I was recently told that these were featured at a Wendy’s event in the US which means they might be in the plans for a future test and/or rollout in the states,” he penned. “These are pretty straightforward – Wendy’s fries that are seasoned with Tajin to give them a little kick. I’d absolutely love to try these and hope they are tested in the US.”

Americans want them yesterday

Tajin has really taken off over the last few months, and now they even have a unique sorbet flavor available in grocery stores. Naturally, fans of the spice are majorly excited over the prospect of the Wendy’s Tajin fries.

One person said: “They were at the CIAA Fan Fest and were good as s**t! I got myself a few Free Biggie Bags and they had the Tajin on the fries!”

“WHATTTTTTTTTT in El Salvador???? Where was I??? Hope it makes it to the US.. mannnn I would give these a try in a heartbeat… Let GOOOOOO!!!” another fan screamed.

Admittedly, other people were exhausted by the trend of slapping Tajin on anything to create a somewhat new item for fast food menus.

“This is probably an unpopular opinion but I’m tired of the everything has to be spicy and let’s put Tajin on everything trends,” one person said, as another shouted, “No, I don’t like the lime flavor in Tajin.”
