'World class' £128m Arsenal target has just been named his league's Player of the Season

It has just emerged, that a ‘world class’ Arsenal target has been named his league’s Player of the Season.

Arsenal came up short in their bid to win a first Premier League title since 2004 despite beating Everton 2-1 on Sunday.

Ultimately, Manchester City won it for the fourth successive occasion as they cruised to a 3-1 win against West Ham United.

That said, Arsenal mustn’t dwell on it for too long, as Mikel Arteta and club chiefs prepare for the fast-approaching summer transfer window.

One of their rumoured targets has just been crowned the Bundesliga Player of the Season.

Arsenal target Florian Wirtz wins Bundesliga Player of the Season

Arsenal are rumoured to be in for Bayer Leverkusen’s ‘world class’ maverick Florian Wirtz, who has a £128m price tag.

Wirtz enjoyed a phenomenal season for the German champions last term, netting 18 goals whilst laying on 20 assists, taking his total goal contributions to a whopping 40 in all competitions.

Such form has seen him crowned the Bundesliga Player of the Season, fending off rife competition from Bayern Munich’s 36-goal forward Harry Kane.

His stock will only increase now making it even more difficult for Arsenal to land his signature.

According to Caught Offside, Liverpool are also interested in the 21-year-old whilst Real Madrid have reportedly postponed their interest until 2025 or 2026.

Arsenal will need to break the British transfer record

If The Gunners are to secure Wirtz’s signature this summer, they’ll likely need to break the British transfer record.

After already doing so last summer when they signed Declan Rice, it seems unlikely they’ll be able to do it again due to Profit and Sustainability regulations.

The only feasible way to sign Wirtz would be to offer players plus cash to help reduce the transfer fee.
