Every key date you need to know for Aston Villa’s upcoming 2024/25 campaign including all four competitions the Birmingham outfit are in.

Aston Villa saw out a fantastic 2023/24 season under Unai Emery. On top of reaching the Europa Conference League semi-finals, the Birmingham outfit qualified for the Champions League after a fourth-place finish.

It was a highly memorable campaign with many of Villa’s first team standing out throughout.

With another highly anticipated season on the horizon, here is every key date you need to know for 2024/25.

When does the summer transfer window open?

Aston Villa will officially be able to conduct business by signing or selling players from Friday, June 14, 2024.

When is transfer deadline day?

The summer transfer window will be open for over two months before closing on Friday, August 30.

The Premier League changed their deadline day to match that of the other top European leagues.

Previously, the Premier League ended their summer transfer window before the campaign started but this was reversed.

When are the Premier League fixtures released?

Aston Villa’s fixtures for the 2024/25 Premier League season will be released on Tuesday, June 18, at 9 am.

When is Aston Villa’s pre-season tour?

Aston Villa will once again be returning to the United States to prepare for the upcoming campaign. Their first fixture will be on July 27 before finishing off the tour on August 3.

When does the Premier League start?

The 2024/25 Premier League season will get underway on the weekend of August 17, 2024.

The European Championship in the upcoming summer means that the competition is starting later than last year.

When do Aston Villa enter the Carabao Cup?

Due to Villa’s participation in Europe for the upcoming season, the Birmingham outfit will once again enter upon the start of the third round.

Villa will enter the Carabao Cup on either September 17/18 or September 24/25 with the round being split over two midweeks.

When is the Champions League draw?

The league phase draw will be on August 29. Following this, the play-off knockout round draw is on January 31 and the round of 16 on February 21.

When is the FA Cup third round?

The dates are yet to be confirmed for when the FA Cup will take place.

The competition will have a new look for the 2024/25 campaign with replays being scrapped for the first round onwards.

When does the January transfer window open?

Villa made some great buys in the last winter window and they will have a chance to repeat this success starting from January 1, 2025.

When does the winter transfer window close?

The January window will be open until Monday, February 3, 2025.
