Jack Wilshere and William Saliba react after news coming out of Arsenal yesterday

William Saliba and Jack Wilshere have sent heartfelt messages to one Arsenal player on Instagram.

The Gunners ended up two points short of achieving their dream of winning the Premier League title on Sunday. Manchester City just proved to be too good in the end.

Everyone at Arsenal will have a good break now ahead of the Euros, and we’re sure all of them will be looking forward to returning and going for the title again. One player’s journey as a Gunner, however, has come to an end.

William Saliba and Jack Wilshere send messages to Arsenal’s Cedric Soares

Cedric Soares has spent four-and-a-half years at Arsenal.

The Portugal international joined the Gunners from Southampton, initially on a loan deal in January 2020. That move was made permanent in the following summer on a free transfer.

Cedric never really became Arsenal’s first-choice right-back.

Mikel Arteta has almost always had better options ahead of him, but the defender remained a very popular member of the squad behind the scenes.

Now, Cedric has confirmed that his time is up.

The 32-year-old will leave Arsenal as a free agent this summer after 64 appearances for the Gunners in all competitions.

The Portuguese full-back took to Instagram on Monday to bid farewell to Arsenal fans, teammates and staff and thanked them for everything over the last four-and-a-half years.

The replies under his post show just how liked he was by his teammates even though he didn’t play a lot of football over the last two years.

William Saliba wrote: “Good luck my friend!”

Jack Wilshere added: “Top player and top guy. All the best my friend!”

Fabio Vieira commented, “Thank you for everything,” while skipper Martin Odegaard replied with a bunch of heart emojis.

Two other Arsenal players have confirmed they’re leaving

Arsenal are expected to be very active in the summer transfer window, which will open in June.

Fans of the North London club are really excited to see who Mikel Arteta and Edu will bring in, but a few players could be shown the door.

Cedric Soares is on his way out, and fellow first-team player Mohamed Elneny confirmed before Arsenal’s final game that he will be leaving the club too.

Along with them, academy star Reuell Walters, who many view as one of the best young defenders in the country, has bid farewell to Arsenal as well.

There’s still a long way to go before the new season begins, and we’re sure a few more Arsenal players will be moved on by then.
