Russia's losses in Ukraine as of May 21: 1,380 troops and 34 armored vehicles

Russian losses in the war in Ukraine on May 20 amounted to 1,380 troops. Additionally, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed 34 enemy armored combat vehicles (ACV) and 42 artillery systems, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022 to May 21, 2024 are estimated as follows:

  • Personnel: 495,070 (+1,380) eliminated
  • Tanks: 7,605 (+15)
  • Armored combat vehicles: 14,699 (+34)
  • Artillery systems: 12,779 (+42)
  • MLRS (Multiple launch rocket systems): 1,077 (+1)
  • Anti aircraft warfare systems: 811 (+4)
  • Aircraft: 354
  • Helicopters: 326
  • UAV operational-tactical level: 10,290 (+54)
  • Cruise missiles: 2,207 (+2)
  • Warships/boats: 27
  • Submarines: 1
  • Vehicles and fuel tankers: 17,383 (+72)
  • Special equipment: 2,085 (+6)
