Danny Murphy names the two Premier League players he’d love Liverpool to buy for £100m this summer

Liverpool are preparing for a new era after Arne Slot was announced as their new head coach.

After Jurgen Klopp’s emotional goodbye on Sunday, the Reds saw fit to officially welcome his replacement.

Slot won’t start properly for another few weeks and will likely be enjoying a brief holiday before getting down to business at Anfield. But the wait is finally over, no more uncertainty.

There’s plenty for the 45-year-old to do once he arrives at the AXA Training Centre. Both in terms of the transfer market and sorting out new contracts, there’s a lot on Slot’s plate.

For Liverpool fans, the fun part of that will be in seeing who their new boss targets to add to the squad. And with claims that a new winger is on the agenda, former player Danny Murphy has given his recommendation.

Liverpool urged to sign Crystal Palace duo

Liverpool’s desire to bring in a new attacker appears to be entirely separate from the future of Mohamed Salah.

Salah now looks likely to stay at Anfield at least for the final year of his contract. But there does still remain a possibility that a big bid from Saudi Arabia proves too good for the Reds to turn down.

If the 31-year-old is to leave Liverpool, then it will surely be for something around the £100m price-point.

Should that eventually happen, then Murphy has told TalkSPORT the two players Slot should go out and get for Liverpool.

“I wouldn’t go either [Bowen or Kudus],” says the pundit, when asked who he’d sign to replace an outgoing Salah.

“If I got £100m for Salah I’d give the £100m to Palace and sign Olise and Eze, I’d sign two for the price of one!”

Can Liverpool sign Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze?

As Liverpool look for the right player to supplement their attack, Olise is a name that has regularly cropped up.

The 22-year-old had a stunning end to the season with a resurgent Palace, scoring four goals and registering three assists in his final six Premier League games.

In the end, Olise hit double figures for goals, despite playing just 19 matches. He’s definitely a player to keep an eye on this summer.

As for Eze, the 25-year-old has been mentioned far less frequently in relation to Liverpool.

Nevertheless, with 11 Premier League goals, the England international outscored Olise and has been in equally stunning form.

Both would be welcome additions at Anfield. However, it feels a long shot on one, while both seem practically impossible.
