Met Office issues yellow weather warning for rain covering Nottinghamshire, including Newark

The Met Office has warned wet weather could cause disruption as three days of heavy rain are forecast.

A yellow warning for rain has today (May 21) been issued for the area lasting until 6am on Thursday (May 23).

Thunderstorms are also forecast in some parts of the region.

There is a chance that some communities will become cut off by flooded roads and spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some closures.

Homes and businesses could be flooded as well as some interruption to power supplies and travel services, the Met Office has warned.
