Ukrainian forces struck the Russian missile ship Tsiklon in occupied Sevastopol on the night of May 19, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The military specified it was hit on the night of May 19.
The General Staff added that the ship was in temporarily occupied Sevastopol.
"Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Russian missile ship Tsiklon of project 22800," the military reported.
What is known about the ship
The Tsiklon was laid down in 2016 on the occupied Ukrainian territory in the city of Kerch, launched in 2020, and commissioned into the Russian Black Sea Fleet on July 12, 2023 (factory number 801). It began combat duty on August 22, 2023.
The Tsiklon became the first ship of project 22800 Karakurt in the Black Sea and the fourth ship of this project across all Russian fleets.

On the night of May 19, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed a Russian ship, the minesweeper Kovrovets.
Later, the spokesman for the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Dmytro Pletenchuk, added that the Russian Black Sea Fleet might have lost the small missile ship Tsiklon, which is the last carrier of cruise missiles in Crimea.
