Police Zeroing In On Who Supplied 'Friends' Star Matthew Perry With Deadly Ketamine Dose: Report

California police officers working with the Drug Enforcement Agency are reportedly investigating who suppliedMatthew Perry the ketamine that contributed to the actor's death last fall.

Perry, 54, was found unresponsive in a hot tub at his home in Los Angeles, on October 28. The County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner ruled that Perry's death was the result of "the acute effects of ketamine" with "drowning, coronary artery disease and the effects of buprenorphine" cited as contributing factors.

While Perry had been receiving medically supervised ketamine infusions to treat his depression, the drugs found during the coroner's investigation were not from medical professionals. Sources told TMZ that investigators have approached individuals connected to recreational drug use, in order to find more information regarding Perry's death.

The "Friends" actor went to rehab 15 times during his lifelong battle with drug and alcohol addiction. He opened about the experience in his 2022 memoir, "Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing" - detailing the millions of dollars spent and numerous medical procedures he underwent as a result of his addiction.

In the years leading up to his death, Perry shared that he had gotten sober. When he died, however, the amount of ketamine in his system was equivalent to that given as general anesthesia for surgical patients.

After the drug overdose death of rapper Mac Miller, there were similar investigations into the individuals who provided him with drugs. The man who delivered drugs to Miller was sentenced to 11 years in prison.
