Real Housewives star Bethenny Frankel has opened up on her divorce on her YouTube podcast, revealing her daughter Bryn grew up during the “nightmare” marriage downfall.
Bethenny Frankel said her eight-year divorce was the “worst experience of my life,” adding, “It affected my health, my confidence, my work, my trust, my faith and my choices.”

Bethenny Frankel went through an eight-year divorce, and claims lawyers said they’d “never seen anything like this before”. At the time, she was trying to look after her young daughter and host a talk show.
She says the divorce was a “nightmare with no end” and explained how she felt she couldn’t leave because lawyers advised her it looked like abandonment. But she got to a point where she moved out.
Frankel and her ex-husband, Jason Hoppy, reached a financial settlement in 2016 and finalized their divorce in 2021. They married in 2010 before splitting two years later and filing for divorce in 2013.
She was told divorce would take ‘1 year’
Bethenny revealed on her YouTube podcast how she’d been told by divorce lawyers that it would only take a year, and claimed she stayed at the house at first so she could spend time with her daughter, Bryn.
She later moved out and would only go back to the $7 million apartment to get her things out of her room when he wasn’t there. Bethenny said staying at her friend’s place was “a sigh of relief”.
At the time, the former The Real Housewives of New York star was trying to launch a talk show in Los Angeles. She felt “exhausted” and would be “so tired” shooting two shows and getting home late at night.
Bethenny’s daughter, who she shares with her ex, was only young when they first filed for divorce. She would take her and her school friends to Georgetown Cupcakes once a month to treat her.
“The mothers thought I was like, mother of the year, because I was taking all the friends to make your own cupcakes and I was still in my makeup in my talk show outfit,” she recalled.
