For national team fans, the build-up to the tournament has been full of anticipation, with plenty on the line as the Tartan Army aim to make history.

Of course, with Celtic representation there, the finals also provide a chance for Hoops supporters to keep a keen eye on how their heroes fare against the elite of international football.

Now, the matter is set in stone as the squad has been officially announced ahead of all the action commencing on German soil.

Four Celtic players called into Steve Clarke’s provisional squad

The Scotland national team announced the squad via their official X account earlier today, with four players making the cut from Celtic, as seen below.

Club captain Callum McGregor has expectedly been rewarded with a place; however, congratulations are also in order for Greg Taylor, Anthony Ralston and James Forrest, who also have a real chance of making the 26 after being selected.

Speculation has dominated the headlines over the last few weeks regarding whether Forrest’s excellent run of form was enough to earn recognition from pundits such as James McFadden.

Ralston looks to be a certainty on the plane after news broke that Aaron Hickey and Nathan Patterson won’t be available for the Scots due to injury. On the other side, Taylor comes in to complement former Celtic man Kieran Tierney and Liverpool star Andrew Robertson at left-back.

Exciting times are in store for Scotland, and with representation from Parkhead on the way, some of the Hoops’ prominent stars could be set for an intriguing summer on the international stage.
