Brendan Rodgers shares what he’s preparing Celtic to do against Rangers on Saturday

With the big Scottish Cup final against Rangers looming, the Celtic fans will be looking forward to yet another exciting weekend.

Last weekend saw Brendan Rodgers’ side presented with the Scottish Premiership trophy and that sparked scenes of joy for the Celtic support.

And as the parties have pretty much died down, all focus is now on this weekend where Rodgers will be hoping to cap of his return to the club with a league and Scottish Cup double.

With so much at stake, Rodgers has shared what he has been preparing his side to do against Rangers in the hope of winning the cup for the third time in his Celtic career.

Rodgers wants a ‘Kilmarnock’ performance from Celtic vs Rangers

The Celtic fans had better buckle up because if Rodgers gets half the performance his team produced in Rugby Park, then there could be goals galore at Hampden this Saturday.

Rodgers said [Celtic YouTube], “I think it’s pretty much relaxed but focused. I think it was nice at the weekend to celebrate but now our focus is very much on this Scottish Cup Final.

“We are preparing to bring a similar performance to what we did against Kilmarnock in the game.

“So really good preparation. We’re playing on a fantastic surface, it’s the last showpiece game of the season and we want to again come and bring our best selves to that and look to finish what would be a fantastic season.”

In fact, scratch the part where I said the Celtic fans better buckle up, the Rangers fans will need to watch from behind their couches if Rodgers’ team brings another Ayrshire performance to the table.

Now that Celtic have a full-strength team to choose from, Rangers will be wary of the kind of football the Bhoys can produce.

Especially as in the four times Celtic have faced the Ibrox club this season, Rodgers has been without one or two key players and they are still unbeaten in the Glasgow Derby fixture.

Of course, we are not getting carried away. Nothing is a given. But the sheer fact that Rodgers has mentioned the Kilmarnock performance could be another media masterstroke from the Celtic manager as he bids to get in Rangers’ heads before the big 3pm kick-off.
