‘Struggle for words’: Joe Hart gets emotional about falling in love with Celtic

As Joe Hart gets set to retire after Celtic’s Scottish Cup final against Rangers on Saturday, the Hoops keeper was fielding questions from the Parkhead support on an online Q&A yesterday.

We have already discussed this morning how Hart pinpointed the one game in which the Celtic supporters blew the veteran keeper away.

The 3-0 win over Rangers in February 2022 when Celtic went top of the league tops the charts for Hart in the atmosphere the fans have generated at Parkhead over his three-year stint in Glasgow.

And that seems to be one, not the main, reason the retiring treble-winner gave as to why he fell in love with Celtic.

Hart struggles to explain his love for Celtic

It is clearly obvious that Hart enjoys an incredible bond with the Celtic support. And as the 37-year-old bows out on Saturday, the fans will be hoping that it will be with the Scottish Cup tucked under his arm.

However, when asked by a Celtic supporter to explain what made him fall in love with the club, Hart couldn’t find the words.

Hart said [Celtic FC on X], “I struggle for words because I don’t want to sound cliché by just saying the fans, the support and the energy.

“I suppose it’s the expectations of the club and the understanding of the club.”

We all saw how emotional Hart was in his final appearance at Parkhead during and after the 3-2 Trophy Day win over St Mirren.

The love and affection shown by the Hoops support was reciprocated in what must go down as one of the most emotional afternoons at Celtic since Henrik Larsson left the club in 2004 to join Barcelona.

As Hart hangs up his gloves he goes onto a new chapter as he takes up a punditry gig for the upcoming Euros in Germany.

And as he gets set to bow out for one final time, Hart’s emotion is likely to be fully on show no matter what the result is at full-time at Hampden.
