Kyogo Furuhashi's brilliant Scottish Cup final vow as Celtic look to secure the double

Kyogo Furuhashi has delivered a brilliant vow ahead of Celtic’s Scottish Cup final clash against Rangers next weekend.

The Japan international got on the scoresheet against St Mirren yesterday, taking his tally for the season to 19 goals and five assists in 49 appearances across all competitions [Transfermarkt].

Furuhashi has needed to adapt to an alternative way of playing under Brendan Rodgers this term; however, he has delivered where it has mattered, scoring two decisive goals in victories over Rangers at Ibrox and Parkhead.

Next Saturday, Celtic travel to Hampden to face off against Philippe Clement’s outfit in the Scottish Cup final, with a domestic double on offer for either side in the final match of the campaign.

With six medals to his name at Parkhead, Furuhashi has now made a brilliant pledge that is likely to stoke the appetite of Hoops’ supporters for further silverware at the national stadium.

Taking to Instagram, Furuhashi has delivered a simple vow ahead of the Hampden showdown, with pre-match build-up set to dominate headlines for the coming week.

Delivering a rallying cry to his teammates, the 29-year-old posted a picture of himself scoring against St Mirren, coupled with the caption: ‘I’ll do my best in the finals too. Let’s fight together.’ (alongside a football emoji and fire emoji).

Despite getting his hands on the Scottish Premiership trophy yesterday, it appears Furuhashi is determined to make his mark against Rangers once again, who are a side he enjoys a magnificent record against.

Celtic have the chance to end the campaign gloriously; however, they will be under no illusion that one more collective push is required to topple their rivals on May 25th.

For now, the players will enjoy their league-winning celebrations before putting in the hard yards at Lennoxtown ahead of the showpiece occasion.
