Report: 'One of the best strikers in the world' wants to join Chelsea despite Pochettino leaving

One player’s stance on joining Chelsea has not changed despite Mauricio Pochettino’s departure.

The Blues announced on Tuesday that the Argentine will leave the club after less than a year at the helm at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea‘s summer transfer plans will now depend on their new manager, but one of their key targets is ready to move to West London irrespective of who’s in charge.

Victor Osimhen makes Chelsea decision after Mauricio Pochettino’s exit

Chelsea will need to sign a new striker this summer.

Christopher Nkunku has had a lot of problems due to injuries, while Nicolas Jackson has come under a lot of criticism for some of his missed opportunities.

A new manager will have a say on transfers, but we can’t imagine many bosses saying no to someone like Victor Osimhen, who has been branded as ‘one of the best strikers in the world‘ by Joao Cancelo.

Chelsea have long been linked with a move to sign Osimhen, with TBR Football exclusively revealing that Todd Boehly is willing to table a £110 million bid to sign the Napoli star.

There has been some concern over what will happen to this deal following Mauricio Pochettino’s departure, but TeamTalk have some good news for Blues fans.

The outlet claim that Osimhen is now ‘fully focused’ on joining Chelsea despite what has happened to Pochettino at the club.

It has further been claimed that ‘the Blues are well ahead of Paris Saint-Germain and Saudi clubs in the race’ to sign the Nigerian striker.

The report adds that Osimhen has given his ‘informal approval’ to Chelsea and ‘only some aspects of his prospective seven-year contract’ need to be discussed.

Chelsea could offer forgotten man in swap deal to sign Osimhen

TBR Football can confirm that Chelsea are willing to pay £110 million to sign Osimhen this summer, but there is also another way a deal can be done.

The Blues are expected to part ways with a number of their current players. Many of their loan players will also be shown the door.

One such player could be included in the deal to sign Osimhen.

TBR can reveal that Romelu Lukaku – yes, he’s still a Chelsea player – has been told that he could be offered in the deal to sign the Napoli man. The Belgian is open to a move to Naples as well.

It will be interesting to see how Chelsea will try to close this deal once the window opens in June.
