'He's addicted': Kyle Walker says Man City have one man who is simply obsessed with winning

Kyle Walker reveals there is one figure at Manchester City who is “addicted” to winning.

It seems like to become a success at Manchester City, it is extremely important to buy into the club’s winning mentality.

Despite having won the treble last season, it never seemed like there was a hangover from last season for the players.

Kyle Walker says one man at Man City is obsessed with winning

From day one, the club had moved on to their next target of trying to win four Premier League titles in a row.

City have managed to achieve the historic goal and it would not be a surprise if they did not dwell on their triumph for too long — focusing on beating Manchester United in the FA Cup final instead.

When quizzed about how Manchester City stay hungry to win trophies season after season, Kyle Walker claimed it stems from having a born winner in Pep Guardiola at the helm.

The £50 million man told Sky Sports: “I think it starts from the manager, first and foremost. He’s addicted to winning, he’s addicted and it rubs off on us.”

Pep Guardiola is creating winners for the future

Players like Kyle Walker, who have played under Pep Guardiola for years have become serial winners, as he revealed.

But working with Guardiola for the first seasons of their careers, the likes of Jeremy Doku, Josko Gvardiol, Matheus Nunes and Oscar Bobb will also gain this mentality.

Rico Lewis experienced what it is like to work under the Catalan since last season, especially when his sights were set on the treble.

Once several of City’s experienced players like Walker leave the club, the likes of Doku, Nunes and Gvardiol will have to maintain City’s high standards.

But having been managed by Guardiola, it is unlikely that they will accept mediocrity.

The same applies to even younger players like Rico Lewis and Oscar Bobb, who have come through the ranks as well.
