Arsenal could make 'special' £80m winger who Thierry Henry loves their top summer target

Arsenal are reportedly ready to make an £80m-rated Premier League forward their main target for the summer transfer window.

The Gunners are set for a huge few months with the market set to open in June, with Ian Wright already urging Arsenal to make as many as three new signings as the north London side look to beat Manchester City to the title next season.

With a new attacker being recommended by such pundits as Micah Richards, it’s clear to many that Arsenal will go big on a forward that can complement the likes of Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz in the front-three.

And one Premier League player will seemingly be made a top target for the Gunners.

Pedro Neto poised to become Arsenal’s top summer target

According to GiveMeSport, Wolves attacker Pedro Neto is poised to become Arsenal’s top target, with the Molineux side valuing the Portuguese winger at £80m heading into the summer window.

Highly rated by Thierry Henry and recently lauded by David Seaman as a ‘special’ player, Neto has been linked with Arsenal for what feels like forever, with the Gunners chasing the versatile forward for some time.

Yet with Wolves in a position where they have to make a major sale and Arsenal in the market for a new attacker, it makes sense why Neto has now emerged as Mikel Arteta’s top target for the summer.

Indeed, the 24-year-old forward impressed this season with three goals and 11 assists in all competitions despite numerous injury problems, and Arsenal could now finally pull the trigger to sign Neto.

Arsenal might not get a better window to sign Neto

As mentioned, Arsenal have been linked with Neto for quite some time, with Arteta a manager who is willing to play the long game to land targets if he thinks they’re worth the wait.

We saw last summer the arrival of David Raya, another player who had been on Arsenal’s radar for years, and this window could be the perfect opportunity for the Gunners to bring in Neto from Wolves.

With money to spend, Arsenal can afford to break the bank to bring the 24-year-old to north London, with Neto the ideal player to compete for an attacking position and to some much-needed depth to the wings.
