‘Probably are’: Jack Grealish now names his favourites for the Premier League title next season

Manchester City star Jack Grealish has named his ‘favourites’ to win the Premier League title next season.

Mikel Arteta suffered an agonising final day of the season as his side missed out on the title to Manchester City by two points.

Arsenal have gone close two years running now, while Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool were right in the mix up until the end of April.

With the Premier League season done and dusted after City retained their crown, many will already be looking ahead to the next campaign.

Liverpool will be under new management for the first time since 2015 after Arne Slot arrives at Anfield this summer.

As for Arsenal, they will be bidding to go one better and it looks set to be a crucial summer transfer window at the Emirates.

Now, Jack Grealish has delivered his early verdict on next season’s title race.

Grealish names favourites for Premier League title

The City star appeared on talkSPORT this morning and was quizzed on next season’s title race by Alan Brazil.

“With Arsenal improving and they’ll probably bring in a striker, change at Liverpool, Chelsea lost their manager. City are favourites to win it again next year, there’s no reason why you can’t be champions again,” the pundit said.

“We probably are [favourites] at the moment,” Grealish admitted. “Especially with the players we have and of course, the main thing the manager.

“But listen, there are so many top teams in the Premier League. Arsenal, Liverpool and even Chelsea have finished the season so strong and have got a lot of young, quality players in their squad.

“It will be difficult for us but fingers crossed, I’m sure it’s in the back of the manager’s mind already that he wants to win five in a row.”

City are favourites

It’s difficult to disagree with Grealish as breaking City’s dominance over the Premier League looks to be a very difficult task at the moment.

Pep Guardiola’s side made history last weekend as they became the first team to scoop four titles on the bounce.

With that being said, Arsenal ran them very close this season and are only likely to improve next term.

As for Liverpool, they could be the surprise package of the season but Arne Slot may have to endure a slightly difficult season as he bids to steady the ship following Klopp’s departure.
