‘Hated so much of it’: Nedum Onuoha shares one thing he didn’t like from Man City’s latest title win

Nedum Onuoha has highlighted one moment from Manchester City’s latest Premier League campaign that he absolutely hated.

The Citizens lifted the Premier League trophy for the sixth time in seven years last weekend after beating West Ham United 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium on the final day of the campaign.

Having beaten Arsenal and Liverpool to the title, the Manchester club are now the first side to ever win four league trophies in a row.

Despite that, one pundit and former City player has pinpointed one particular and fairly recent game in the season that he says he can’t wait to forget about.

Speaking in a recent edition of Planet Premier League, Onuoha had this to say about City’s penultimate league game of the season against Tottenham Hotspur in North London.

He said: “It finishes 2-0 and I cannot wait until I forget how stressed I was during the 2-0. I honestly can’t wait because I hated so much of it. They had no control, Spurs were in the ascendancy and all that.”

City’s win at Spurs was crucial but stressful

Last week, on Tuesday night, Pep Guardiola’s side took on the Lilywhites at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to try and keep their winning streak going and put themselves two points ahead of Arsenal at the top of the table prior to the final round of fixtures.

Even though the Blues went into that match having lost their four previous away league games against Spurs, City managed to walk away on this occasion with a 2-0 win thanks to a brace from Erling Haaland.

Throughout the game, Ange Postecoglou’s side had 53% possession and 10 shots at goal, five of which were on target.

In comparison, while City had 47% possession and just eight attempts at goal, they also had five shots on target.

Given how important it was for City to get a win at a stadium they had never previously even scored a league goal in before, it comes as no surprise to us that Onuoha was stressing out during the match.
