Report: Crystal Palace now set to demand £60m to sell England star, potential replacement already found

It’s only the first week since the league ended and already Crystal Palace are busy in the transfer market with plenty of links.

Oliver Glasner won’t have been happy to see the season end considering how impressive his side had been looking over the last month.

That being said, he will be excited to make moves in the transfer window and improve his Crystal Palace squad to a level which might see him achieve a finish higher than 10th next season.

There has been excellent news this week in the form of Dougie Freedman remaining at the club after rejecting Newcastle. But in terms of transfers, there also appears to be movement, both in and out.

Marc Guehi a £60m target for Manchester United this summer

At Palace, three players seem to be constantly linked with an exit this summer, and it’s the three biggest names at the club, Marc Guehi, Eberechi Eze and finally Michael Olise.

Now a report by The Guardian has stated that Guehi is attracting interest from United ahead of the summer transfer window in which a deal would likely be worth £60m.

The Red Devils are in dire need of a centre-back so it wouldn’t be a shock to see a move made for Guehi.

The report also adds that Olise is attracting interest from Arsenal, Man City and United, while Palace remain braced for offers for Eze.

While losing Guehi would be a blow, already Palace are already close to signing a potential replacement.

Chadi Riad deal getting closer for Crystal Palace

Even without selling Guehi, centre-half was a position that Palace needed to strengthen, as playing a back three left options in this area slightly short.

Therefore it makes sense that the Eagles are moving forward in plans to sign Chadi Riad in a deal worth £13m, as we reported on Wednesday.

The report states that Riad is a potential replacement for Guehi in defence with the La Masia graduate an exciting talent and potentially the latest excellent coup for Freedman.

Signing Riad is unlikely to conclude Palace’s bolstering of the defensive ranks with one or two extra players likely needed given the numbers currently in the squad, especially if Guehi leaves.
