Exclusive: Bournemouth pull of huge coup to land 'world class' director/talent"

Bournemouth have taken a huge step forward this season under Spanish head coach Andoni Iraola and now TBR understands they are going to further bolster their ranks, off-the-field.

Cherries owner Bill Foley made the bold decision to part company with Gary O’Neil last summer, bringing in Iraola – one of the most highly-rayed coaches in Europe.

Now Foley has made a move to further bolster Bournemouth’s push to be amongst the Premier League’s elite.

Bournemouth land Tiago Pinto as new footballing chief

TBR Football understands that Bournemouth have agreed terms with former Roma sporting director Tiago Pinto to join the club.

TBR sources confirm that Pinto will come in not as sporting director but head of football operations – a similar role to which Spaniard Monchi holds at Aston Villa.

Bournemouth see landing Pinto as a huge coup – given he was considered by Manchester United and Newcastle earlier this summer, and previously held talks with the likes of Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur.

Pinto is a free agent having left Roma earlier this year, where he has been since 2020 when they lured him away from Benfica.

When appointing Pinto, Dan Friedkin, chairman of Roma, stated: “Tiago is a world class talent” and that sentiment is now set to be echoed by Foley and Bournemouth’s hierarchy after they sealed his capture.
