Report: Amid talk Arsenal will accept £37m loss on player, UEFA Champions League side now set to make bid

One UEFA Champions League side are now set to make Arsenal an offer – amid reports of the Gunners being willing to accept a significant loss.

Mikel Arteta has already showed how ruthless he can be after dropping Aaron Ramsdale for David Raya last summer, and the Spaniard is now set to make more brutal decisions at the Emirates Stadium.

There are rumours that Gabriel Jesus could be sold after an underwhelming 2023/24 campaign – in which the Brazilian scored just four Premier League goals.

Arteta is also said to be ready to sell Arsenal No.5 Thomas Partey – and there has now been an interesting development on that front…

Arsenal set to receive Thomas Partey bid from Galatasaray

A story by Takvim in Turkey now claims that Galatasaray will make a bid for the Ghana international – after hearing that bitter rivals Fenerbahce have made Arsenal an offer.

It comes after another Turkish news outlet in Fotospor stated that Arsenal are willing to sell Partey for just £8.5m this summer – which would represent a £36.5m loss on the initial £45m payment it took to lure him away from Atletico Madrid.

There is no doubt that the 30-year-old faces a crucial juncture in his Arsenal career this summer.

Partey only has 12 months remaining on his contract at the Emirates Stadium, and after an injury hit 2023/24 campaign in which he missed 21 Premier League games, it seems likely that Arsenal will cash in.

There have even been reports from Football Transfers which claim that Arteta has become irritated by the Ghanaian’s lack of availability – hence why a sale this summer would not surprise us one bit.

Edu already pursuing potential replacement

The timing of these rumours about Partey particularly intrigues us, as they come amid a story from Tutto Juve – who claim that Arsenal have just submitted a bid to sign Real Sociedad No.4 Martin Zubimendi.

Arteta has wanted to sign the Spain international for well over 12 months now, and the chances of Arsenal securing his signature this summer seem high, especially if the Gunners remove Partey’s £200,000-a-week salary from the wage bill and give themselves more financial wriggle room.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as we certainly wouldn’t be surprised to see Arsenal swap Partey with Zubimendi this summer.
