‘Crazy’: Pundit says £225k-a-week Man City player could do something unbelievable in the future

Jay Bothroyd has claimed that one Manchester City player could go on to do something very special in his career.

The Manchester club recently became the first side to win four Premier League titles in a row by beating West Ham United in their final match of the campaign last weekend.

Having now won six Premier League trophies in seven years, the Blues could follow that up by winning another FA Cup if they beat Manchester United this weekend.

After the recent title victory, one pundit couldn’t help but share his astonishment at what one specific City player has done at the club and what he could still go on to do in his career.

Speaking in a recent video shared on the Optus Sport YouTube channel, Bothroyd had this to say about Phil Foden after seeing the Englishman recently win his sixth Premier League title.

He said: “He’s 23, it’s crazy. He could be the most decorated player ever at the end of. But then you look at it and say that’s 100% self-belief.”

Since making his senior debut for the Citizens back in 2017, the 23-year-old has made 269 appearances across all competitions, scoring 87 goals and supplying 57 assists along the way.

Foden has already won a significant number of trophies

On the silverware front, with six Premier League titles won, Foden now has the same number of top-flight medals as David Beckham, Rio Ferdinand and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

In addition to that, the £225k-a-week midfielder has also won four League Cups, two FA Cups, two Charity Shields, one Champions League, one UEFA SuperCup and one FIFA Club World Cup.

With that in mind and the age he is, it comes as no surprise that Bothroyd thinks the City star has what it takes to win a record number of titles throughout his career.
