Rio Ferdinand has predicted whether he thinks Manchester City or Manchester United will win the FA Cup final.

In the seven meetings between both Manchester clubs, Manchester United have the upper hand — winning five and losing two.

However, the two last games which City won were during massive occasions.

Rio Ferdinand predicts who will win the FA Cup final: Man City or Man United

In 2011, Manchester City beat Manchester United in the FA Cup semi-final and last season as well, they triumphed in the final.

Rio Ferdinand believes Manchester City will come out on top against Manchester United in the FA Cup final on Saturday.

On FIVE’s official YouTube channel, he said: “My heart says Man United on penalties and we limp to penalties but my head says they’re going to beat us, I can’t give a score. I think they’ll win. I’ve got to be honest. They’re going to take it out of our hands, we aren’t even seeing the ball.”

Man City need one of their players to step up like Gundogan

In our view, for Rio Ferdinand to be proven right, Manchester City will need one of their players to step up as Ilkay Gundogan did against Manchester United.

Such games, in particular, are decided by individual brilliance, as Gundogan did so with his incredible brace last year.

Manchester City have several candidates who can emerge as difference-makers on the day.

The list is endless, with names like Phil Foden, Kevin De Bruyne, Erling Haaland, Jeremy Doku and Rodri springing to mind.

However, Manchester United also have an X-factor in their team like Alejandro Garnacho, who seems to be fearless, regardless of the opposition.

Furthermore, United will be hoping to give their fans a day to remember after undergoing their worst season in Premier League history.

Both teams will not need to be provided new instructions on how to approach such a game.

As a result, players on both sets of teams will have to take the onus on themselves to make the difference.

Considering Manchester City have superior quality over Manchester United, if individual brilliance plays a factor, Rio Ferdinand may have predicted the correct team to win.
