Comedian still looks at fiancée's photo every day after she was brutally murdered

Drew Carey and his fiancée Amie Harwick enjoyed a whirlwind romance in 2018 before Harwick was struck by a depraved act of violence two years later.

It’s been an exceedingly difficult few years for Drew Carey, but the Price Is Right host appears to finally be coming to terms with the horrific murder of his ex-fiancée Amie Harwick. In a revealing new interview, the celebrity spoke openly about how he has been dealing with grief in such traumatic circumstances.

Having first met in 2017, comedian and television personality Carey made plans to tie the knot with the family and relationship therapist Harwick just a year later – before agreeing to call the engagement off later in 2018.

Though the pair separated before they could marry, Carey adoringly once told People that the pair “had a love that people are lucky to have once in a lifetime”. Now, years on from her death, the TV host is ready to speak about his once fiancée again.

“She’s with me always,” revealed Carey in an emotional interview, in which he revealed he has a photo of his late former partner on his dressing room door which he looks at every day before going on stage.

“A lot of times I’ll feel like I’ll be thinking things through, and it’s almost like I can hear her voice saying, ‘Well, really, it’s because of this and that.’ It’s really nice, honestly.”

Carey doesn’t think about Harwick’s killer

Harwick passed tragically in February 2020, when an ex-partner whom she had granted multiple restraining orders against broke into her Hollywood home and attacked the therapist with a blunt object.

Three and a half years later, the attacker was convicted for Harwick’s murder – a verdict which Carey claims helped him to move forward from her passing.

“I can barely remember the guy’s name,” said a defiant Carey. “That’s how much I’ve put him out of my life – but ever since the final sentencing, it feels like we’ve all let out a breath and are able to finally move on.

“The whole process is over now, and there’s nothing else to be done and nothing else to worry about… Just speaking for myself, it’s been quite a load off.”
