Report: Pep Guardiola has no plans for Man City-owned player, the club want to sell him this summer

Pep Guardiola reportedly has no intention of using one particular player Manchester City own in his team next season.

The Manchester club have had numerous players go on loans to a variety of clubs over recent years.

During the previous summer transfer window, City saw the likes of Joao Cancelo, James McAtee and Josh Wilson-Esbrand leave the club on separate loan deals.

Now though, with the next summer transfer window approaching, some behind-the-scenes details have come to light regarding another player who has spent time away from the Etihad Stadium on loan and what the future could hold for him.

According to a recent report from Estadio Deportivo, Guardiola has no plans to use Yan Couto in his City squad next season due to him already having the likes of Kyle Walker, Rico Lewis and John Stones at the club.

Therefore, the Manchester club will look to sell the Brazilian, who has apparently attracted interest from Juventus and Bayer Leverkusen to the highest bidder this summer or alternatively, let him go back to Girona but on a permanent basis this time around.

Couto has impressed at Girona

Couto has spent the last two seasons on loan at Girona in Spain. Looking back over the current season, the 21-year-old scored one goal and delivered 10 assists in 33 La Liga appearances.

In addition to that, the full-back has racked up the second-highest number of progressive carries (147) in the Girona squad and the third-highest total of successful tackles (32) and crosses (104).

This shows how capable Couto is on and off the ball in an attacking and defensive sense.

With that in mind, this could help City land a suitable transfer fee for him in the summer if a club want to sign him.
