A team from Diss High School took on a muddy obstacle course, raising thousands of pounds for a cancer charity.
The group of colleagues completed Cancer Research UK’s Norwich Pretty Muddy 5km on May 11, at Norfolk Showground, collecting £2,400 for the good cause.
Among them were Duncan Somers, assistant headteacher and head of science, and his wife Emma, senior pastoral leader and special educational needs coordinator Both celebrated 25 years of working at the school.
Mrs Somers said: “'We are proud to have been part of the Diss High School community for the past 25 years and spending time with some of our amazing colleagues, raising money for a cause which is close to our hearts, was absolutely fantastic.
“All of our team had special people in mind, but the one common thread was the members of our school, past and present, who have had to deal with this awful disease.
“We have been overwhelmed with the generosity shown and hope that this donation can fund further research into the causes and treatment of cancer.”
