Photo: Mohamed Salah posts snap after drastic new haircut, he looks completely different

If there’s one thing Mohamed Salah is known for other than scoring goals, it’s his iconic hair.

The shortness of Salah’s curly afro comes and goes, but it always remains in place. It has come to be a part of the Egyptian.

Salah has become immortalised since his arrival at Anfield in 2017, and his distinctive haircut is immediately recognisable.

However, things are changing at Liverpool. Following Jurgen Klopp’s departure on Sunday, fans are now going to have to get used to seeing Arne Slot in the dugout next season.

And following a photograph posted by Salah on Friday, it seems that Klopp isn’t the only icon to leave this summer. Salah’s hair has gone.

Mohamed Salah posts drastic hair change

We weren’t prepared for this. But it seems as though Salah has actually gone full Arne Slot.

During the summer break, Mo often presents fans with mysterious posts of what he’s doing in his time off. The 31-year-old creates intrigue over the most mundane of posts.

The one Salah posted on his Instagram page today is equally dry. It’s simply Salah stood in front of mirror, presumably at home.

And although Mo is stood some distance from the reflection, it’s quite clear that Liverpool’s No.11 has shaved his hair off.

There is a slight shadow above Mo’s head which makes it ever so slightly inconclusive. But we think the evidence is pretty damning. The afro is gone.

Our thoughts are with everybody at this difficult time!

Mohamed Salah goes full Arne Slot

Of course, in this day and age you can’t be sure of exactly what’s real and what is not. There is a chance Mo is just playing here.

The Liverpool legend notoriously loves his locks and it seems strange that he would lop them off.

Maybe it is a nod to the new manager, a simple photoshop as a means to embrace the man coming in to succeed Klopp.

We’ll have to wait and see for a better view of Mo to give a verdict on how he looks.

For now though, we’d say that although we’d miss his iconic look, this actually looks decent on Salah. He’s forgotten to do his buttons up, though!
