Report: Which player Everton would rather sell this summer - Amadou Onana or Jordan Pickford

Amadou Onana and Jordan Pickford’s Everton futures have been thrust into the headlines in recent weeks.

Arsenal are believed to be interested in Onana, although his £60million price tag is understood to be putting the Gunners off.

Talk around Pickford’s future is slightly more concerning. It’s believed 777 Partners’ protracted takeover falling into chaos means there’s a genuine chance of the 30-year-old being sold.

Now, news has emerged over who the Toffees would rather sell.

A report from Sports Lens UK has shed a little more light on who the Toffees would rather part ways with.

It’s believed Onana, who has been in and out the side, is viewed as the “best asset” to move on.

Everton, at the moment, have no desire to sell either Jarrad Branthwaite or Pickford, yet, with financial issues rumbling on in the background, the situation could change.

Cashing in on Amadou Onana makes sense if required

Of course, no Evertonian wants to see Onana depart Goodison Park. The Belgian has largely impressed during his two years on Merseyside and certainly has the potential to become a top-class midfielder.

However, at the moment, Pickford is far more valuable to Sean Dyche.

Some of the saves the 30-year-old made during the run-in, quite literally, saved the Toffees from a potentially nerve-wracking end of the campaign.

Hopefully, with talk of 777 being pushed aside, a new buyer can be found, and off-the-field issues quashed during the summer months. If financial matters can be sorted, talk of Everton’s best players being sold will quickly dissipate.
