Report: £25m player could now leave Tottenham imminently; agents have been in London to discuss move to Europe

Tottenham’s summer of change could be set to kick into gear with the sale of one of the players brought in during the Mauricio Pochettino era.

Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou is keen to get to work quickly this summer and wants to see a number of players both come and go.

Key to Tottenham’s plans coming off over the summer will be the sales or moving on of certain players simply not in Ange’s plans.

Giovani Lo Celso expected to leave Tottenham after agent talks in London

According to a report from Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo, Real Betis are trying to land Lo Celso this summer as they look to convince Spurs to sell.

It’s claimed that Lo Celso’s agents and reps have been in London recently to try and get a deal done.

However, Tottenham have demanded around £25m for the Argentinian midfielder and that fee is believed to have put off the Spanish side.

But according to the same report, Betis are confident that the price will come down as Spurs do want to move Lo Celso on and the player himself fancies the switch.

Lo Celso, then, could well be on his way shortly to kick off a big summer of change at Tottenham.

Lo Celso needs to move on for his own good

Despite being a seasoned international midfielder and a player Spurs forked out over £40m for in the first place, Lo Celso just doesn’t seem to fit in Postecoglou’s plans.

Lo Celso made just two starts all season for Spurs under the Aussie and at the back end of the season, he only came on late in games.

The midfielder, then, needs to move on and start afresh and a move back to familiar territory could be just the ticket.

For Spurs, they simply need a sale and that £25m price tag will probably dip, unless, of course, the Saudi Pro League decides it wants in.
