Fabrizio Romano's big West Ham update as he shares likely winner in lethal 30-goal forward race

West Ham United need to sign a proven striker like Serhou Guirassy like you cannot believe.

Serhou Guirassy has been in stunning form out in Germany this season, so it’s no surprise that West Ham apparently want to sign him by activating his £15 million release clause.

One of the main priorities for Julen Lopetegui this summer will be to sign a top-class centre-forward – someone who has a proven history of finding the back of the net.

And let’s be honest here, they don’t come much better than Guirassy, they really don’t.

The 6ft 2in forward has all of the physical attributes required to succeed in the Premier League as well. He’s incredibly strong, possesses impressive pace and is intelligent with his movement and the runs that he makes.

I would absolutely love to see the former Rennes hitman move to the London Stadium, but will it happen this summer?

West Ham target Serhou Guirassy set for big summer move

Guirassy is one of the most sought-after strikers on the planet right now.

The Stuttgart hitman has been on fire in Germany this term, with 30 goals in 30 games to his name (Transfermarkt), and he ended up behind only Harry Kane in the Bundesliga goalscoring charts.

The door was wide open for the Hammers to sign Guirassy back in January, but we missed out on his signature in the end.

So where next for the striker? Will he stay with Stuttgart, join another Bundesliga club or move abroad?

Fabrizio Romano took to his official X account today to provide an update on the 28-year-old striker’s future:

Borussia Dortmund winning the race for the prolific Guinea international would really hurt.

Guirassy is a devastating striker, and he’d undoubtedly take us to a whole new level inside the final third.

Can you just imagine the Guinean playing alongside Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus!

However, it now looks like the Hammers have no chance of signing the 28-year-old, with Dortmund now really pushing to bring him to Signal Iduna Park this summer.

West Ham should have signed Guirassy a lot sooner, it really is as simple as that.
