A strong showing at Euro 2024 may also now hike up PSV’s asking price for Bakayoko. They already value him at around £43m but will assess the price tag after this summer’s European Championship. Bakayoko has one goal with Belgium so far and has started six of his 10 caps.

Ruben Pinheiro hopes to join Arne Slot’s Liverpool coaching staff

Ruben Pinheiro has applied to join Liverpool’s coaching staff as Arne Slot looks to establish a backroom team at Anfield. That is according to Record, which reports that the 26-year-old is eager to move to Merseyside with Slot having to replace most of Jurgen Klopp’s lieutenants.

A prime position Slot must fill is finding a replacement for Pep Lijnders after he took charge of RB Salzburg. The 41-year-old twice acted as Klopp’s No2 after returning to Anfield in June 2018. Now, Pinheiro hopes Liverpool look kindly on his potential to be Slot’s right-hand man.

Pinheiro does not have a lot of experience to support his application to join Slot’s coaching staff at Liverpool. He has only ever worked in youth coaching after roles for Sporting Lisbon (2018-20), Belenenses SAD (20-21), SCU Torreense (21-22) and also CD Mafra (22-23) yet.

Teen wonderkid Leny Yoro has now asked LOSC Lille to permit his transfer this summer amid interest from Liverpool. That is according to L’Equipe, which claims the 18-year-old wants to quit Les Dogues with Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Real Madrid keeping tabs.

Los Blancos have been hot on Yoro for the past two years and the centre-back can imagine a life in the Spanish capital. But Liverpool and Manchester United will fight Real Madrid for his transfer. PSG also remain hopeful, despite Lille’s opposition to selling to a direct Ligue 1 rival.

Lille already fended off one move by Paris Saint-Germain to land Yoro’s transfer in January. Les Parisiens hoped to strike a deal mid-season but the Stade Pierre-Mauroy natives refused to focus on their Europa Conference League quest. Yoro helped Lille make the quarter-finals.
