‘He has been so adaptable’: Pundit says £378k-a-week man has done something ‘remarkable’ at Man City

Chris Sutton has said that one Manchester City figure has done something unbelievable at the club.

The Blues are just one victory away from winning a consecutive domestic double.

After winning the Premier League title for the sixth time in seven years last weekend, the Citizens could win another FA Cup today by beating Manchester United like they did last season.

Ahead of this big game at Wembley Stadium, one pundit has pinpointed one particular figure at the Manchester club and heaped praise on them for what they’ve done there.

In his recent column for BBC Sport where he previewed and predicted the score for this weekend’s FA Cup final, Sutton had this to say about Pep Guardiola and the job he’s done at City so far.

He said: “What Pep Guardiola has done at City is nothing short of remarkable, and not just because of how much he has won.

“He has been so adaptable, season after season, with the way he has evolved the team so they play a slightly different way each time.”

Guardiola has been everything City hoped he would be

Since being appointed as City’s manager back in 2016, the £378k-a-week Catalan has overlooked 471 games in total prior to today’s FA Cup final.

Across those games, City have won 349, drawn 57 and lost 65, picking up six Premier League titles and numerous other domestic and European trophies.

Despite being a clear winner who has guided his side to many titles over the past eight years, the fact that Sutton has highlighted the many ways Guardiola has tinkered and evolved his ideas of how his team go about their business showcases just how much of an innovative and intelligent manager he is rather than just having to rely on the talent of his individual players all the time.
