'Biggest sale in club's history' reportedly hits the skids after West Ham's official £15.3 million bid

The Wesley Gassova to West Ham United transfer saga has had more twists and turns than a Grand Prix circuit!

Wesley Gassova is believed to be a key transfer target for West Ham, and the Premier League club have apparently already lodged an official £15.4 million bid for his signature.

It was recently claimed that the Hammers are actually in pole position to sign the 19-year-old, although Corinthians were said to be demanding around £21 million for the winger.

Familiar face Kia Joorabchian is allegedly playing a key role in trying to bring Wesley to the London Stadium this summer.

He’s an incredibly talented young player, and could very well end up being the next big thing.

However, a big problem has seemingly emerged for the Hammers in our pursuit of Wesley…

Major U-turn in potential Wesley Gassova to West Ham transfer

The teenage winger was extremely close to swapping Brazil for England – East London specifically – recent reports have claimed.

However, the deal could now be hitting the buffers, and it’s apparently through no fault of our own.

The problems are coming from Corinthians’ side.

Things are never easy when transfers involving West Ham are concerned are they!

Corinthians president Augusto Melo recently told CNN Brazil, “It will be the biggest sale in Corinthians’ history. He has a bright future, the staff need the boy.”

And Andre Hernan has now told UOL that Melo has changed the goalposts once again with Wesley, and is now demanding up to €35 million (£30 million).

The young left winger has bagged seven goals and four assists in 64 senior appearances for Corinthians (Transfermarkt).

He is extremely talented, has pace and skill in abundance, and would be a sensational addition for the Hammers.

Wesley Gassova is only 19 though, and he will obviously have to bulk up his slight frame in order to be a success in the Premier League with West Ham.

And whether the West Ham board believe he’s worth paying £30 million or more for remains to be seen.
