Journalist is now 'positive' that 'frightening' Newcastle player won't be leaving this summer

It seems obvious that players will leave Newcastle United this summer.

Indeed, with FFP restrictions looming large over the club right now, Newcastle are reportedly looking to raise money through player sales.

Callum Wilson is believed to be one of the players likely to leave St James’ Park, while Kieran Trippier is said to be facing a rather uncertain future.

Miguel Almiron is another to have been touted for an exit.

While all of them will obviously need replacing should they leave, most supporters would surely rather they depart ahead of the two more in-demand players.

Both Bruno Guimaraes and Alexander Isak have been linked with a move away, after all.

There is seemingly hope Guimaraes will stay this summer, while Isak is thought to be the player Eddie Howe wants to build around for years to come.

After scoring 21 Premier League goals during a difficult season for the club as a whole, it’s easy to see why.

Hailed as “frightening” by teammate Trippier, Isak is believed to have admirers from Arsenal.

Now, however, some good news has emerged.

Ben Jacobs says he’s “positive” Alexander Isak will stay at Newcastle this summer

Speaking on his Fully Loaded Transfer Show posted on YouTube, well-known journalist Ben Jacobs shared what he really thought about Isak’s future.

“I’m positive that Isak won’t be sold, Arsenal are interested, they were before he joined Newcastle, but there is nothing more than that, Guimaraes, you can never say never because he has a release clause,” Jacobs said.

Alexander Isak could sign a new contract with Newcastle soon

With the club said to be ready to demand £180m for the Sweden international, it seems suitors could be priced out of a move this summer at least.

There is even a hope Isak could yet sign a new contract with Newcastle, too.

Newcastle are hopeful they will be able to nail down his long-term future amid ongoing talks about a new deal on Tyneside.

Certainly, all signs appear to be pointing towards Isak staying put over the next few months.
